Individuals can request a background check on themselves, however a consumer credit report would not lawfully be provided. You cannot request your own consumer credit report which deemed unlawful by the FRCA.

A fingerprint-based background check is also commonly referred to as Live Scan. Live Scan electronically records an individual’s fingerprints and is electronically transmitted either to the Department of Justice or FBI or both. Live Scan Background checks are often not instant, with information transmitted electronically to the requesting Agency and not the Applicant.
